Bellevue Church of Christ exists to fulfill the Great Commission given to us by Jesus in
Matthew 28:19 “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 “teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen
Each member of the Church will be taught how to accomplish this mission as this should be the hearts’ desire of everyone who wears the name of Christian.
1. Teach about salvation in Jesus.
Acts 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.”
2. Baptize by immersion those who believe and who repent.
Acts 2: 38 Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
3. Continue to teach and encourage all who become part of the church until they have come to the fullness of the measure of Jesus Christ.
Ephesians 4:11-13 And He Himself gave some to be apostles, some prophets, some evangelists, and some pastors and teachers, for the equipping of the saints for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ, till we all come to the unity of the faith and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fullness of Christ;
Accomplishing this mission is not for any personal glory or honor, it is the Lord who adds to the church. We are only asked to share what we know with others and leave the rest up to God.
