The annual Teen Camp is a ministry of the Bellevue Church of Christ. This annual event is designed to provide a spiritual encouragement to the teens of the Church. The Church in this sense is the world-wide church and the camp is open to anyone who can attend.
This ministry was begun to provide a “local” opportunity for teens to be encouraged. There are other teen camps hosted by other assemblies (Bozeman, Montana) and some of our teens have attended these camps. In each case, the teens returned motivated to be more active in their service to God and it was decided that we would do what we could locally.
The first teen camp was conducted in the July of 2007. Both the adults and the teens were greatly edified and we hope that this will continue to expand each year.
This ministry has important goals to accomplish:
- To provide a local opportunity for the teens to be spiritually enriched.
- To provide the adults the opportunity to be spiritually encouraged by observing and participating with the teens in a structure designed to nurture a closer relationship with God.
- To strengthen the faith of the teens through in-depth and practical application of the scriptures through various venues of teaching.
- To help the teens develop bonds with each other that will assist them when the trials of life come their way.
